
Dr. Lawson completed his neurosurgical residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital after earning his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He graduated with honors from the Johns Hopkins University School of Engineering with a dual degree in biomedical engineering and materials science. As a medical student, Dr. Lawson received the Hunterian Medical Student Research Award for his work on interstitial chemotherapy for brain tumors. During his neurosurgical training, Dr. Lawson completed a Functional Neurosurgery fellowship sponsored by the American Parkinson's Disease Association. While in practice, Dr. Lawson has participated in investigational device trials for a total disc arthroplasty device and a lumbar spine stabilization device.
Dr. Lawson has interests in general neurosurgery, spine surgery, deep brain stimulation for movement disorders, and motion preservation in the spine.
